Studio guide
How the stages work
What to expect at 922 Dragon, from load-in to wrap. Parking is on the Location page.
Access and hours
- Your crew has the stages for the whole booked period, nights and weekends included. Nobody from the studio needs to be on the floor.
- The office is open Monday to Friday, 8 am to 5 pm.
- Come in through the parking-lot gate on the left, then the side door by the ramp. The front door on the street stays locked.
- Working early or late? Tell us beforehand so we can pause the after-hours alarm.
Cyc and paint
- The stages are swept and clean when you arrive. They are not freshly painted.
- The cyc stays white. If your shoot needs fresh paint, your crew paints it. Behr Marquee Ultra Pure White 1450 from Home Depot is the only approved paint for the cyc and floor.
- For colour, light it or hang fabric. Electric Light & Power has blue and green screens cut to our stages. Seamless paper works well on the floor.
- If you paint a colour, return it to white before you leave. That can take several coats.
- We can help estimate paint or find a local painter.
Equipment
- Camera, grip and electric gear comes from Electric Light & Power and 4:4:4 Camera, our exclusive providers. Send requests to rental@electriclight.com.
- Exceptions: still cameras and strobes, gear your production owns, and sound, VTR and effects your crew brings.
- Gear arrives the day before on a grip truck. Need more on the day? Call (214) 630-7228, ext 2. It usually arrives in under 15 minutes.
- At wrap, stack gear on the floor. It does not go back on the truck.
- A scissor lift is on stage at no extra cost. Plug it in at the end of each day.
- Production supplies: txsupplyrentals.com.
Kitchen
- Pots, pans, trays and bowls are free to use. The appliance list is on the Prep Kitchen page.
- Bring your own fryer oil. There is no oil recycling on site; we can arrange pickup for a fee.
- Turn the gas off at the end of each day.
- Take all food home, spices included.
- Tell us right away if an appliance has a problem.
Rooms and craft service
- The offices and the hair and makeup room are yours to set up. Put them back the way you found them.
- The drinks fridge in the dining area usually has drinks left by earlier productions. Take what you need and replace what you can.
- There is a K-Cup coffee machine. Bring your own coffee and supplies.
- Bathroom supplies are stocked. Please top up towels and toilet paper if you run low.
Liability
- 922 Dragon is not responsible for loss, theft or damage to equipment or personal property brought on site.
